The inspiration for this charming design with rounded pillars and corners came from the fact that our client's restored period cottage had beautifully soft rounded edges to the plasterwork. The ground floor of the cottage was also completely open plan so both the kitchen and utility area is fully integrated with the dining, living, and entrance space. This meant our furniture had to look great, complement the light and airy 'designer' décor and really work hard to provide an adaptable living workspace.
The small island unit houses a sink and dishwasher as well as providing useful extra storage and worktop space and providing a great 'food bar' and general 'leaning' area, for those conversing with the cook!
The elaborate over mantle has been scalloped back to echo the curves of the kitchen whilst cleverly making maximum use of the worktop area below. |
